GRIFFIN COAL —
LIQUIDATOR
1214. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the Minister for State and
Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to my question without
notice 1044 of 14 September 2023 regarding consultants engaged by and paid by
government in relation to the insolvent Griffin Coal.
The PRESIDENT : Just one
moment. Your microphone went off.
Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS : I am
being censored, President!
The PRESIDENT : I doubt that
very much, Leader of the Opposition; that would be almost impossible.
Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS : I will
continue.
(1) On what date
did the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation engage Preston
Consulting to provide advice on rehabilitation matters?
(2) What is the value of the
contract with Preston Consulting, and for what applicable time frame?
(3) What is the
specific scope of Preston Consulting contract pertaining to Griffin Coal, and
what key performance indicators are associated with the contract?
(4) Who or whom
does Preston Consulting directly and indirectly report to in government under
the terms of the rehabilitation contract?
(5) Will the
minister table the contract between Preston Consulting and the government in
the house; and, if not, why not?
