I refer to the Minister's advice of 19 June 2012 regarding Euro population management (question on notice No. 5570), and I ask in relation to the answer supplied to the question (3) 'how much did the surveys/monitoring cost', for each of the figures supplied, what was the amount spent on —
(a) aerial surveying; and
(b) ground surveying for Euros?

(a-b) With respect to the aerial survey costs detailed in the answer to part (3) of question 5570, the costs of dedicated aerial surveys for euros are not separately identified in the Department of Environment and Conservation's accounts. The ground surveys conducted in each of the three years 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10 are estimated to have cost approximately $8,500 per year, excluding normal salaries.
