I refer to the Department of Education's alternative learning settings, and I ask: (a) for each site, will the Minister advise how many students participated in the program in: (i) 2022; and (ii) 2023; and (b) Of those students referred to in (a), how many students returned to: (i) their original school; (ii) a new school; and (iii) another education setting, and could the Minister please specify the setting?

b)      In 2022, a total of 97 students transitioned from the program and 73 students continued support in 2023. Of the 97 students who transitioned: i.    54 returned to their enrolled school (original school) ii.   22 enrolled into a new public school iii.  4 transitioned to an alternative education pathway (for example, TAFE)
Of the remaining 17:
·         12 transitioned to a Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education (CARE) school
·         1 transitioned across to the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour & Engagement for additional longer-term support, attending the Greater Bunbury Engagement Centre
·         one student transitioned to another education jurisdiction
·         3 students transitioned to the non-government school sector.
In 2023, a total of 149 students transitioned from the program and 87 students continued support into 2024. Of the 149 students who transitioned:
i.                    83 returned to their enrolled school (original school)
ii.                  33 enrolled into a new public school
iii.                8 transitioned to an alternative education pathway (for example, TAFE)
Of the remaining 32:
·         7 transitioned to a Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education (CARE) school
·         2 transitioned across to the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour & Engagement for additional longer-term support, 1 attending the Goldfields Engagement Centre and 1 attending the Shoalwater Engagement Centre
·         3 are being supported by their education regional office for support
·         10 students transitioned to another education jurisdiction outside of Western Australia
·         3 students transitioned to the non-government school sector.
