The Premier responded with decisive leadership to the call for certainty from WA industry after the release of the, now withdrawn, EPA Guidelines on Greenhouse Gas Emissions. He tasked me as the Minister for Energy to undertake initial consultations with industry to develop a state emissions policy. I met with a range of stakeholders to discuss the parameters of this policy, including Chevron, Woodside, Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association and later the Chamber of Minerals and Energy, as well the Conservation Council of Western Australia.
