(f) The Department of Transport (DoT) treats assaults, sexual or otherwise as extremely serious and encourages students to report such matters immediately to the WA Police as it is a criminal offence. Should the WA Police charge the Driving Instructor, there are automated processes in place whereby the WA Police notify DoT, and the CEO or his delegate will immediately review the instructor’s suitability and will suspend the authority as required.
(g) There is no mandatory state-wide code of conduct, but there is a national code of conduct which applies to those WA driving instructors accredited under the Australian Automobile Association’s Keys2Drive program.
