(1) District policing demand is coordinated by the Police Assistance Centre with the Incident Management Unit in the South East Metropolitan District (SEMD) scrutinising police tasking response pressures and coordinating policing resources accordingly. This includes centrally based units and specialist offices in the SEMD. The specific location of the police station that the officers operate from has limited impact on service delivery.
(2) The Commissioner of Police is responsible for the allocation of police services state-wide and allocates resources accordingly. WA Police undertake continual monitoring of policing services in each Police district to ensure a responsive policing service is provided to the areas of greatest need.
(3) Police stations operate 24 hours with customer service hours generally 8.00 am - 4.00 pm. After hours all phone calls are diverted to 24 hour stations. Cannington is the 24 hours x 7 days a week station for the SEMD.  Members of the public do not always need to attend a police station. Police assistance and attendance can be facilitated 24 hours x 7 days a week by telephoning the Police Assistance Centre (PAC) on 131444. Crime Stoppers is available 1800 333 000 to report information about any crime, suspicious activities, or for information that may help prevent a crime. The 000 number is available for an emergency, life-threatening situation, or when urgent police assistance is needed e.g. a serious crime is in progress, being witnessed or just committed, or a situation where life or serious injury is threatened.  The WA Police website also provides a range of information and online forms.
(4) Resources are principally allocated at a District level and District Superintendents deploy these resources within their District to provide the best possible policing service to meet operational requirements and the varying needs of the community.
