(a)       On 13 May 2016, Royalties for Regions investment for Stage 1 of the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project was announced. On 10 June 2016, Royalties for Regions investment for Stage 2 of the Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project was announced.
(b)       Yes
(c)        No
(d)       The business case formed part of the submission to Cabinet for funding of the project and as such is Cabinet in Confidence.
(e)       Engineering and environmental studies underway or completed include:
·   Koombana Marine Structures Scoping and Gap Analysis Study
·   Environmental Protection Authority referral documentation preparation
·   Casuarina Drive and Jetty Road Development Services Report
·   Koombana Bay Breakwater Design
In addition the Department of Transport has been working on the design of the Casuarina breakwater structure which has included testing using red dye in Casuarina harbour.
Expected completion date for studies is mid-2017, subject to any additional studies that may be required to achieve environmental approval.
