Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to the answer to my
question without notice 831, asked on 13 August 2024.
(1) Has the child that the department reported to the Western
Australia Police Force as a missing person been found?
(2) Has the child recorded as ''unaccounted
for—not in contact'' been found?
(3) Are the whereabouts of the five
children recorded as ''unaccounted for—in contact'' now
known?
(4) For how many days were the
whereabouts of the seven children unknown?
(5) How many children who are in
the care of the CEO have their whereabouts currently recorded as —
(a) unaccounted for—in
contact;
(b) unaccounted for—not in
contact; and
(c) missing?

Minister for Child Protection.
The Department of Communities
advises that as at 20 August 2024 —
(1) Yes.
(2) Yes.
(3) Two of the young people's whereabouts are
now known. Three young people remain as ''unaccounted for —in
contact''.
(4) Two young
people were ''unaccounted for—in contact'' for three and
four days. Three young people remained ''unaccounted
for—in contact'' for 15, 19 and 77 days. One young person was ''unaccounted
for —not in contact'' for eight days. One young person was
missing for three days.
(5) (a) There are seven.
(b) There are two.
(c) There are three.
