(1) In the financial year 2008/9, the Department of Corrective Services, Health Services spent $3.244.651 on the provision of mental health services, including substance misuse services. In the financial year 2009/10, the Department of Corrective Services, Health Services spent $3.902.970 on the provision of mental health services, including substance misuse services. In the financial year 2010/11 to date, the Department of Corrective Services, Health Services spent $2.466.435 on the provision of mental health services, including substance misuse services.
(2) During the 2008 calendar year, a total of 8869 distinct individuals were in adult prisons in Western Australia. During the 2009 calendar year, a total of 9360 distinct individuals were in adult prisons in Western Australia. During the 2010 calendar year, a total of 10329 distinct individuals were in adult prisons in Western Australia.
(3) This information cannot be provided by the Department of Corrective Services as it is a matter for the Frankland Centre, operated by the State Forensic Mental Health Service.
(4) The Department of Corrective Services does not specifically record the
information requested.
