The Department of Water has provided the following response:
(1) Since 23 September 2008, the Water Services Ombudsman Steering Group was established.
(2) The start date was 25 September 2008 and it is expected that the Group will wind up towards the end of 2009 or sometime prior to the Water Services Ombudsman Scheme becomes effective on 1 July 2010.
(3) The Water Services Ombudsman Steering Group is chaired by Mr Don Crawford, Branch Manager, Water Industry Support, Department of Water.
(4) There is no estimated budget for the Steering Group.
