I refer to the answers to questions about the Certificates in General Education for Adults (CGEA), and further ask -
(1) Please provide the number of student curriculum hours purchased and the number of places made available for these courses in, -
(a) 2005;
(b) 2006;
(c) 2007;
(d) 2008;
(e) 2009; and
(f) 2010?
(2) Were changes in demand for the CGEA predicted for 2010?
(3) How many student curriculum hours and places will be available for CGEA in 2011?

(1a)776,420 student curriculum hours were delivered in 2005. This equated to 3,904 course enrolments.
(b)677,881 student curriculum hours were delivered in 2006. This equated to 3,472 course enrolments.
(c)552,855 student curriculum hours were delivered in 2007. This equated to 2,922 course enrolments.
(d)609,341 student curriculum hours were delivered in 2008. This equated to 2,810 course enrolments.
(e)669,341 student curriculum hours were delivered in 2009. This equated to 3,106 course enrolments.
(f) Full year student curriculum hours and course enrolment figures for 2010 are not yet available.
(2)No. The Department of Training and Workforce Development does not predict student demand at the qualification level.
(3)A preliminary allocation of student curriculum hours and places available for CGEA in 2011 will be determined as part of the Delivery and Performance Agreement process for State Training Providers and the Access Program tenders process for private training providers. These processes will not be finalised until early 2011.
