(1) Is the Minister aware of reports of sewerage from the high school and the hospital in Bruce Rock being pumped into bushland due to the inadequate nature of the soil in the area for septic systems; and
(a) if not, will the Minister undertake to immediately investigate the situation and report back to this House?
(2) Is an infill sewerage program planned for the Wheatbelt; and
(a) if not, why not; and
(b) if so, will the Minister table that plan?
(3) Has the Minister approached the Minister for Regional Development or the Treasurer for funding to institute an infill sewerage program for the Wheatbelt; and
(a) if not, why not; and
(b) if so, what were the outcomes of those approaches?

(1) The sewers in Bruce Rock are managed locally and the effluent is pumped to an infiltration pond about a kilometre from the town precinct.
(a) The matter has been investigated as part of work in preparation for appropriate sewerage systems in small country towns. The House will be advised of the outcome of such work, when appropriate.
(2) There are no current plans for infill sewerage in Wheatbelt towns.
(a) The State is investing in infill sewerage throughout the regions. Priorities are assessed with reference to criteria such as the environment, public health and opportunities for density.
(b) Not applicable.
(3a-b) I will not comment on the budget process.
