Dampier Port Authority
(1) The Dampier Port Authority has ten staff at Dampier.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) None by the Dampier Port Authority.
Main Roads Western Australia
(1) There are currently 30 officers in the Main Roads Pilbara Region. One officer (Level 3) is located at the Karratha depot and the remainder are all based at the South Hedland office. However, it should be noted that these figures include five construction crew who are temporarily relocated to other towns on a needs basis. Currently the construction crew is located in Marble Bar.

(3) The Pilbara Region 2000/2001 road program currently has a $35.5 million budget allocation which incorporates funding for a number of major road projects, including:
$5.0 million - Marble Bar Road construction.
$5.5 million - Ripon Hills Sealing.
$5.4 million - Construction of North West Coastal Highway and Popes Nose Bridges.
$1.2 million - Regional Road Group funding in the Shires of Ashburton, East Pilbara and Roebourne and the Town of Port Hedland.
The program also includes a provisional amount of $13.2 million for the management and delivery of works through the Term Network Contract 2/99. This Contract is yet to be awarded and includes roadworks on Highways and main roads in the Pilbara and Gascoyne Regions, and part of the Midwest Region.
During the last financial year (1999/00) work was completed on sealing 80 kilometres of the Goldfields Highway to provide all weather sealed access from Wiluna to Kalgoorlie.
