188. Hon KATE DOUST to the minister representing the
Minister for Seniors and Volunteering:
I refer to the recent allocation of funds to Advocare for a
helpline for elder abuse.
(1) What is
the amount allocated by government for this service?
(2) How long
will it run for?
(3) Is this
the amount that Advocare quoted as being needed to run the service?
(4) If not,
what is the reason for the discrepancy in funding?

The director general of the Department for Communities has advised me that the
Department for Communities has made no recent allocation of funds for a
helpline or hotline for elder abuse.
