(a) In developing their report Dr Vogel and Mr McFerran consulted a range of industry stakeholders. In addition, an invitation was sent to the Conservation Council of WA. I am advised that a response was not received.
(b) Neither the scope of the review nor the Government’s response has any impact on existing statutory rights given to the public to engage in EPA environmental assessments. The subtext of the members question implies that he does not understand the basis of this review.
(c) I reject the assertion made in the member’s question. The State Government continues to consult with stakeholders, including the conservation sector, as part of its work to implement measures to improve the efficiency of the approvals process while maintaining the highest environmental standards.
