(1) Has the newly appointed Inspector of Prisons had cause to report to the Minister or the Ministry of Justice the way in which he was treated when visiting Bandyup Women's Prison?
(2) What was the nature of the matters raised by the Inspector of Prisons?
(3) Has Professor Harding raised his concerns with the Director General?
(4) What actions has the Director General undertaken in relation to this matter?
(5) Does the Acting Superintendent of Bandyup Women's Prison also have responsibility for Nyandi Prison in Bentley?
(6) How frequently has the Acting Superintendent visited Nyandi Prison since 1 January 2000?
(7) Does the Minister have concerns regarding the performance of the Acting Superintendent of Bandyup?
(8) If not, why not?

The Minister Replied:
(1) Yes.
(2) That the Prison was not prepared for the Inspector's visit.
(3) Yes.
(4) The Director General has discussed this matter with the Inspector. In addition, Prison Services management has ensured the prison was well prepared for a satisfactory visit on 21/9/2000.
(5) Yes.
(6) On four occasions.
(7) No.
(8) No other issues of concern have arisen.
