The Office of the Auditor General's (OAG) Report on Financial Audit Results – State Government 2025 released on 3 December 2025 noted that a large number of agencies did not have their financial statements ready in time for auditing which consequently resulted in a number of agencies not being able to table their Annual Reports by the required deadline of 30 September. Can the Treasurer please advise: (a) How many Annual Reports were not tabled by the required deadline of 30 September 2025; (b) If not, why not; (c) If so, what action she has taken to ensure a better level of preparedness for 2026; (d) If it is intended that the annual instruction issued to agencies by the Department of Treasury and Finance on the preparation of Annual Reports will include a specific section reminding agencies of their obligations to have financial statements prepared in a timely manner; (e) If so, when will it be issued; and (f) If not, why not?

(a)-(f) Section 65 of the Financial Management Act 2006 , which enables a Minister to inform Parliament if an annual report cannot be laid before each House of Parliament prior to 28 September or dealt with under section 83, has worked as a viable alternative mechanism for a number of years.
