I refer to the Cannabis Control Act 2003 , and I ask: (a) is the Government aware of any studies having been undertaken to examine they commitment of the police time and resources to cannabis and cannabis related offences in anticipation of the 2003 legislation being introduced; (b) were any submissions received from Western Australia Police or other interested parties, either at that time or since, in regards to the allocation of police time and resources to cannabis related offences; and (c) if yes to either (a) or (b), will the Minister table those reports and or submissions and if not, why not?

The Western Australia Police Force advise:
The agency contributed to the review of the Cannabis Control Act 2003. The report of the review contains details of costs to the WA Police Force in establishing and operating the Cannabis Infringement Notice scheme, and the report was tabled in Parliament on 29 November 2007.
