INFRINGEMENTS
959. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Can the
Minister for Transport confirm that there have been technical issues with the
SmartParker technology?
(2) If yes to
(1), what were the issues; and what impact did these issues have on the ability
to issue infringements?
(3) Have the issues been fixed?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1)–(2)
For a very small number of transactions, there is a delay in the transfer of
data between the parking machine and the Public Transport Authority's
enforcement database. Infringements can be and are being issued. A small number
are being disputed.
(3) System
refinement is still occurring to establish the cause of the data delay issue, which
is intermittent.
