QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENTS — ROTTNEST ISLAND
693. Mrs A.K. HAYDEN to the Minister for Tourism:
I have a supplementary question.
Thank you very much, minister. Has the minister had a conversation with the
Premier highlighting any concerns that he has or has heard from Rottnest Island
businesses about the possibility that Rottnest Island could be closed down;
and, if not, why not?

I
spoke with the Premier this morning. We went for a boat ride this morning
onboard a Rockingham Wild Encounters boat.
I would recommend Rockingham Wild to any Western Australian. Potentially, they
could use their $100 voucher . If they are fast enough to get one of the ''A
million reasons to Wander Out Yonder'' vouchers that will be available
from 10 o'clock next Monday on the Wander Out Yonder website, I would
commend everybody to get one of those vouchers and go to Rockingham Wild. It is
an extraordinary international-class experience. It was incredible.
I
have spoken with the Premier. I speak with the Premier all the time and we
discuss all manner of matters pertaining to not just our portfolios, but also
how much more sea time I have done then he has and how much more comfortable I was on my sea legs this morning than he was.
Mr M. McGowan : That's
rubbish!
The SPEAKER : Point of order,
Premier?
Mr P. PAPALIA : I have to say
that the rumours that were put about on 6PR this morning that the Premier was
seasick are not true. I did not witness that at all. He did not look entirely
stable getting onto the vessel.
The SPEAKER : You should take
him out to Bremer Bay!
Mr P. PAPALIA : I am sure
that we might see that this evening. He had a bit of a trip. We talk all the
time, and the Premier is very aware of my advocacy for Western Australian small
business.
