SMALL BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT AND DIVERSIFICATION GRANTS PROGRAM
872. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the small business
development and diversification grants program and the government's
commitment to $15 million in support of small businesses.
(1) How much has been awarded in
the SBDD grants in terms of total value?
(2) If the answer
to (1) is less than $15 million, how will the government use the remainder to
support businesses in the native timber supply chain to mitigate closure
impacts?
(3) Will the
decision regarding use of remaining funds be made prior to the close of
applications for the closure of impacted business funding to ensure that small
businesses have all options available to them before they consider ceasing
operations?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) A total of $12.39 million has
been awarded across the two rounds of the SBDD grant program.
(2) Remaining
funds will be allocated in line with the native forest transition plan, and an
announcement will be made in the coming weeks regarding a further grant round.
(3) Yes. As mentioned in (2), an announcement will be
made in the coming weeks regarding a further grant round.
