I refer to the State Affordable Housing Strategy that aims to deliver 20,000 new affordable housing opportunities by 2020 and ask: (a) what is the expected composition of these 20,000 opportunities; and (b) what is the number of new public and community housing dwellings that will be created as part of the 20,000?

The Department of Housing advises:
(a)
The 20,000 affordable housing opportunities includes:
(i)
public and community housing for people on very low incomes
(ii)
affordable private rental assistance for people on low to moderate incomes, including the National Rental Affordability Scheme and the Rental Pathway Scheme
(iii)
dwellings constructed under the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Indigenous Housing
(iv)
Keystart loans for people on low to moderate incomes including SharedStart shared equity home loans.
(b)
As at 30 September 2014, 17 168 affordable housing outcomes had been delivered, including 4,502 new social and community houses.
