LOCAL GOVERNMENT — AMALGAMATIONS
289. Mr D.A. TEMPLEMAN to the Minister for Local
Government:
I have a supplementary question.
Given the dire state of the government's finances, why is the minister
proposing to provide buckets of money, or a bucket, for amalgamation, despite
evidence that this does not provide financial gains for the state or for
ratepayers?

AnswerView source ↗

Again, I restate, member, that we
will have to wait for the report to come out and identify how I am going to
fund that process.
Mr D.A. Templeman :
Will the reports say how much?
Mr
A.J. SIMPSON : Yes. I will identify a financial model that will be rolled
out with the reform process.
