I also ask this question on behalf of Hon Peter Foss.  I am a bit surprised the minister gave that answer to the last question, having heard his response to that answer on many occasions.  I refer to the minister’s answer to the question regarding the closure of Riverbank Prison.  In view of the fact that there are just over three months to the announced date of closure - (1) Has the minister now identified the prison to which the intellectually impaired prisoners will be transferred; and, if so, what is it? (2) Has the minister now identified how he will maintain world’s best practice at this new prison? (3) If so, how will it be maintained, and, in particular, how will these prisoners be given a protective, separate and mentored environment with high-quality educational opportunities? (4) Has the Disability Services Commission been consulted on this move? (5) Has the Disability Services Commission made any requests or suggestions about how it should be effected? (6) What are they, and does the Department of Justice intend to accommodate those requests and suggestions; and, if so, how? (7) If not, why not? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS
