ELECTRICITY MARKET REVIEW
257. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the Leader of the
House representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to question without notice
208 asked on 13 March 2014 regarding the electricity market review.
(1) Will the
efficient mix of different types of capacity include demand management and
renewables?
(2) If no to (1),
why not?
(3) If yes to
(1), how?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) The
efficient mix of capacity should provide reliable, secure supply to meet
customer demand at the lowest cost. An efficient mix of capacity should include
demand-side management and renewables if they are the most cost-effective way
of servicing an aspect of customer demand.
