KEYSTART — LOAN BOOK
124. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the minister
representing the Treasurer:
I refer to the proposed equitable
assignment of part of the Keystart loan book and for Keystart to remain as the
servicer of the loan and for customers to continue to deal with Keystart
regarding the loans.
(1) How will the
purchaser manage the risks associated with the loans if they have no direct
relationship with the borrower?
(2) How will the
purchaser manage any potential rewards associated with the loans if they have
no direct relationship with the borrower?
(3) Will all
actuarial, financial or other advice to the government regarding the equitable
assignment of the Keystart loan book be tabled in Parliament or made public?
(4) If no to (3), what will be
tabled or made public?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question. I signed off on the answer of this question at
least an hour ago. It is not in my file. I have just checked whether it was in
the file of the Minister for Housing and it is not, so I assume it will be
brought in to me very quickly and I will hopefully be able to answer it by the
end of question time today.
