My question without notice is to the Leader of the National Party, whom
I thank for gracing us with his presence today.

(1)–(2) I am not privy to what comes
before cabinet from another minister. I do not think that it is appropriate for
me to comment on something that is either going before cabinet, has been
thought about going before cabinet or is even before cabinet. That is not a discussion
for here. I have made the point that the Minister for Racing and Gaming has
carriage of that. It is his business to bring that into cabinet at a particular
point in time.
Mr P.B. Watson interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Albany!
Mr D.T. REDMAN : No doubt those discussions will be had at
that point. We have made the point that we will support the sale of the TAB
only if that is in the best interests of the industry.
