Given 2010 commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Western Australia–East Java Sister-State relationship, for each department and agency in the Minister’s portfolio, please detail:
(a) ongoing programmes and individual projects involving Western Australia and East Java;
(b) ongoing programmes and individual projects involving Western Australia and Indonesia;
(c) budgeted costs of these projects and programmes, including non-State funding such as AUSAID, the Indonesian Government, etc; and
(d) any events, programmes or projects being considered to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the relationship.

Office of Energy
(a - b) The Office of Energy is not involved in any ongoing programmes or individual projects with either East Java or Indonesia.
(c) Not applicable.
(d) The Office of Energy is not considering any events, programs or projects to commemorate the 20
th
anniversary of the relationship.
Department of Training and Workforce Development
(a) Education and Training International does not currently have any programmes or individual projects in East Java.
(b) Education and Training International has a contract with Cardno Emerging Markets (the Australian Managing Contractor) to provide education consultants for the Australia Indonesia Basic Education Program (BEP).
The objective of the program is to improve equitable access to higher quality and better governed basic education services in all provinces in Indonesia.
Education and Training International is involved in an annual teacher work shadow program with the Education Department in West Sumatra which began in 2008. During July and August of 2010 Education and Training International hosted 32 maths and science teachers who were placed in Government schools in the Perth Metro region.
Additionally Education and Training International hosts an executive delegation of Government officials and school principals from the Education Department in West Sumatra each year.
(c) The Education Department in West Sumatra programs are run on a cost recovery basis.
AusAID provided total funding to Cardno Emerging Markets of AUS$355 million for the Australia Indonesia Basic Education Program.
(d) There are no events organised to commemorate the 20
th
anniversary of the Western Australia-East Java Sister-State relationship.
