I refer to Question on Notice 257, and I ask: (a) In the 2023 school year, how many calls to Building Management and Works (BMW) were made from WA public schools for air conditioning system breakdowns; (b) Of the number of calls listed in the answer to (a), how many were given the following status: (i) Priority one; (ii) Priority two; and (iii) Priority three; and (c) Please provide the equivalent answers to (a) and (b)(i-iii) for the following school years: (i) 2022; (ii) 2021; (iii) 2020; (iv) 2019; (v) 2018; and (vi) 2017?

Answer The Cook Labor Government is investing $1.7 billion in school infrastructure over the next 4 years, which will include the rollout of new reverse-cycle-air conditioning systems at 45 schools across the State as part of the Cool the Schools program.
The Department advises:
a) 5,662 calls. * b) (i) 1,056; (ii) 4,088; (iii) 518.
c) (i) 2022: 790; 4,049; 524; Total - 5,363; (ii) 2021: 946; 4,682; 490; Total - 6,118; (iii) 2020: 1,088; 5,599; 798; Total - 7,485; (iv) 2019: 1,364; 6,547; 970; Total - 8,881; (v) 2018: 1,018; 5,362; 944; Total - 7,324; (vi) 2017: 1,008; 5,876; 1127; Total - 8,011
*Total logged calls can include multiple discussions about a reported fault.
