The implementation of the restructured work units within central office is progressively underway and will be completed in the 2003-2004 financial year. (c) and (e) An annual amount of $5 million has been allocated to the Department of Education and Training to cover all restructuring costs, that includes termination payments, technology and infrastructure requirements and the classification and filling of positions. (a) As a result of the report of the Functional Review Taskforce, the Government decided to amalgamate the Department of Education and the Department of Training. However, the Government decided against proceeding immediately with the inclusion of the Curriculum Council and the Department of Education Services in the amalgamated agency. As a consequence, the structure of four separate offices has not been implemented.
