(1) Not every crime scene exhibit that is tested results in a DNA profile. Furthermore, the same DNA profile is often recovered multiple times within a single case. For these reasons, we typically refer to the number of unique profiles that are suitable for upload to the National Criminal Investigation DNA Database (the NCIDD).
As at 25 May 2011, PathWest has uploaded 130,597 profiles to the NCIDD:
