I refer to the public housing
waitlist.
(1) How many
applicants were on the public housing waitlist at the end of December 2022 and
January 2023 respectively, and how many individuals did that represent?
(2) How many people were on the public housing
priority waitlist at the end of December 2022 and January 2023 respectively, and how many individuals did that represent?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Housing.
(1)–(2) As at 31 December 2022, 18 986 applications were
on the public housing waitlist, representing 33 778 people. This included 4 451
priority applications, representing 8 969 people. As at 31 January 2023 ,
18 919 applications were on the public housing waitlist, representing 33 806
people. This included 4 486 priority applications, representing 9 016 people.
