GRIFFIN COAL — CONSULTANTS
34. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the minister representing the
Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to the government's
ineffective outsourcing to find a solution to the ticking time bomb that is the
insolvent and foreign-owned Griffin Coal via its engagement of a coterie of
consultants and advisers, including KPMG, Ad Astra, Preston Consulting,
Sternship Advisers and Ashurst. As at 27 February 2024 —
(1) Apart from
the aforementioned advisers and consultants, has any other government ministry,
agency, department or entity within government engaged consultants or advisers
for the provision of advice pertaining to the insolvent Griffin Coal company?
(2) If yes to
(1), who are the consultants and advisers, when were they contacted and engaged
and for what purpose and rationale, and which ministries, departments, agencies
or entities were party to the contacts?
(3) What is the
value and time frame of the contracts?
