PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS
170. Mrs L.M. HARVEY to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Just to be clear, has any planning taken place at all on facilitating
non-frontline public servants to work from home at some point in the future?

Not to my knowledge. I obviously
want to keep the public sector in full operation to support the community
during this difficult time. I urge all of us to set the right example for the
public. I want to make sure that all of our services across the state, in whatever field they may be, continue to operate, be
it our schools, our hospitals, our police services , our government
trading enterprises, such as the Water Corporation and electricity utilities,
or all of our commercial operations. I am very keen to ensure that we set a good
example for the general public. Obviously, we will act on health advice. I urge
everyone across the community to act on the best health advice to ensure that
we continue to provide essential public services to the general public. It is
very important that particularly those in elected office lead by example. We
have to lead by example. Our community is obviously facing a crisis. In this
Parliament, everyone has a responsibility to set the right example and to lead
by example.
