I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) (a) Fifteen applications have
been received.
(b) Five applications have been
received.
(c) No applications have been
received.
(d) Twenty-six applications have been
received.
(e) No applications have been
received.
(2) Yes. The
demand for boarding places at Geraldton Residential College from non-government
school students increased significantly during 2013 following the announcement
that Nagle Catholic College boarding facilities will close at the end of 2015.
Geraldton Residential College does not have excess capacity to meet the increased
demand from non-government school students into the future. I am currently
considering arrangements that provide for the enrolment of non-government
school students to ensure that Geraldton Residential College is fully utilised,
while also ensuring that the boarding requirements of present and future
government school students are met.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) A decision is expected to be made shortly.
(5) The community will be advised once the decision has been
made.
