I refer to the Economic Audit Committee Final Report Recommendation (16), ‘Establish a Community Development Investment Fund, to support, through low-interest loans, community sector organisations that wish to develop as community employers or social enterprises, run along business lines with the intention of becoming financially sustainable. In establishing this Fund, partnerships with private sector financial institutions should be explored,’ and I ask -
(1) What is the timeline for the establishment of the Community Development Investment Fund (CDIF)?
(2) Who will be responsible for the administration of the CDIF?
(3) What are the criteria for community sector organisations to be eligible to access low-interest loans?
(4) Where will funding be sourced from?
(5) What impact will this recommendation have on community sector organisations that do not wish to develop as community employers or social enterprises, or access low-interest loans?
(6) Will they still be able to access grants or service agreements?
(7) How will savings be achieved by implementing recommendation 16?
(8) What is the total expected savings to Government on an annual basis from recommendation number 16 of the Economic Audit Committee?
