(1) Has all the land comprising the
Preston River to Ocean Regional Park been transferred to the state?
(2) If yes to (1), when was the last
parcel of land transferred to the state?
(3) Has the regional park been
formally established; and, if not, why not?
(4) What has been the delay in
developing a management plan for the regional park?
(5) What improvement and protection
work has been done by the state at the regional park?
(6) What is the government doing to
stop illegal dumping in the regional park?

(3)–(4) The
government remains committed to formal establishment of the Preston River to
Ocean Regional Park. Preparation of a management plan is underway, along with
considerations regarding ongoing management of the park.
(5)–(6) The
state government, through the Department of Planning and the Western Australian
Planning Commission, is supporting the South West Catchments Council and the
City of Bunbury to undertake various works through the federal government's
National Landcare Programme, including fencing, weed control, pest management,
dieback management, prevention of illegal activities, removal of rubbish and
community engagement activities.
