The Minister Replied:
(1) Three Members are currently supplied with petrol/LPG dual use vehicles under the Members of Parliament Electorate Vehicle Scheme.
(2) I do not propose to name the Members concerned. However, four vehicles have been acquired as follows:
(i) 20/4/1998 - 1/5/2000
(ii) 20/4/2000 to date
(iii) 20/1/1998 to date
(iv) 20/4/1999 to date
(3) Savings are difficult to quantify, as there are a number of variables to consider. However, if LPG is used for the maximum number of fills (approximately 80%), savings in the order of $1,500 - $2,000 over unleaded fuel costs can be achieved.
