I refer to frequent planned and unplanned outages occurring at Augusta in the South West of Western Australia, and I ask: (a) please provide a list of planned outages have occurred in Augusta in 2025 to date, including date and timeframe; (b) please provide a list of unplanned outages have occurred in Augusta in 2025 to date, including date and timeframe; (c) please provide the works schedule for the power line leading to Augusta for 2025, including original schedules and time variations that have occurred; (d) how many planned outages have occurred on the Augusta line due to residential developments further north, and which developments have been involved; (e) how have residents and businesses in Augusta been notified of planned outages; and (f) what compensation has been provided in Augusta residents and businesses in 2025 due to outages?

The scheduled duration of planned outages ranged from 3 to 11 hours. Five of the planned outages occurred on a rescheduled date.
Power was restored for unplanned outages within 12 minutes to 23 hours, with around two-thirds restored in under 2 hours.

(e) Western Power notifies all customers directly connected to its network of planned outages, using contact details provided by their electricity retailer. Notification is provided by email, SMS, or mail, with at least 72 hours’ notice. Customers within embedded networks (such as shopping centres) are notified by their embedded network provider, who is responsible for passing on outage notifications to their end users.
(f) In line with customer service commitments and regulatory schemes, payments may be made in specific circumstances:
· Under the Extended Outage Payment Scheme, eligible customers may receive a service standard payment of $120. In 2025, three extended outage payments have been made to customers in Augusta.
· For planned outages, Western Power may contribute to temporary generation costs for businesses where appropriate. In 2025, four Augusta businesses received a total of $3,760 in generator hire contributions.
