TORO ENERGY WILUNA URANIUM PROJECT —
LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
1019. Hon
ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Water:
I refer to Toro Energy's proposed Wiluna uranium
project and the Department of Water's draft ''Western Australian
water in mining guideline'', which states that a mine closure plan
should be provided for consideration before a licence to abstract water can be
issued.
(1) Has Toro
Energy been granted a licence to abstract water in relation to its Wiluna
project?
(2) Has Toro
Energy applied for a licence to abstract water in relation to its Wiluna
project?
(3) If no to
(1) and (2), will the minister commit to ensuring that Toro Energy submits a
mine closure plan for its Wiluna project prior to the company being granted any
licences to abstract water?
