FREMANTLE PORT — CONTAINER CAPACITY
1222. Hon ADELE FARINA to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Transport:
This question was also lodged by Hon Ken Travers, who is away
on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to question without notice 1170.
(1) Why did
the government commit to the Perth Freight Link before establishing the impact
it would have on the maximum number of containers that the Fremantle inner
harbour will be able to handle per year?
(2) Which
version of the Perth Freight Link is being used in the current assessment of
container capacity of the inner harbour?
(3) Does the current assessment include consideration of any
road improvements in North Fremantle?
(4) If yes to (3), what improvements does it consider?
(5) If no to (3), why not?
(6) Does the assessment consider a new dedicated rail bridge?

A number of network options and impacts will be considered as part of the due
diligence for the proposed Fremantle port divestment.
