(1) Does the current Department of Aboriginal Affairs (DAA) Site Registrar have any tertiary qualifications and, if so, in which fields? (2) If no to (1), on what basis was the Site Registrar appointed to the position? (3) I refer to the Widi Mob letter. Has the DAA Registrar sent out any similar letters to other native title claim groups advising them that DAA had formed the view that a registered site within their native title area is no longer a site, on the basis that it is not associated with ‘religious activity’ under section 5(b) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 ? (4) If yes to (3), will the Minister list the sites in question and the Aboriginal groups to whom such letters were sent?
