❓ Hon Martin Aldridge questions DFES regarding mobilisation procedures, non-response recording, telecommunication reliance, and risk analysis in case of mass telecommunication loss. DFES confirms no non-response recording, denies complete reliance on commercial networks, acknowledges other jurisdictions' practices, and states it maintains a register of disruption-related risks.

I refer to question on notice 660 answered on 10 May 2022 in relation to mobilisation of Brigades, Groups and Units (BGU), and I ask: (a) does it remain the case that the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) does not record instances of non-response by a BGU when mobilisation is requested; (b) is it the case that DFES relies entirely upon commercial telecommunication networks for the mobilisation of BGU's including redundancy options all relying on the same network(s); (c) is the Minister aware that in other jurisdictions that emergency service organisations only rely upon telecommunication networks as a redundancy to their primary mobilisation being radio network based; and (d) what risk analysis or planning has been undertaken in the event of mass telecommunication loss affecting a region or even the entire State?
