GOVERNMENT REGIONAL
OFFICERS' HOUSING — BROOME
258. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Housing:
I refer the minister to the
Government Regional Officers' Housing program, or GROH, managed by the
Housing Authority.
(1) How many GROH properties does
the authority own in Broome?
(2) How many GROH properties are
currently vacant in Broome?
(3) Is the Housing
Authority in the process of purchasing properties to add to its GROH stock;
and, if so, how many?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The Housing
Authority owns 74 Government Regional Officers' Housing properties in
Broome. Honourable member, this is one of those things where there is a secret
code that no-one reveals to you; we generally call them GROH properties.
(2) All GROH properties in Broome
are currently allocated to client agencies.
(3) GROH
continually sources newly constructed housing from private investors, local
governments and Aboriginal organisations to meet increasing demand from the
program's client agencies.
