I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Collie
Motorplex is operated by Motoring South West, an independent body not funded by
the department; hence, the department does not hold the information requested.
(2) Refer to the answer above.
(3) The Shire of
Collie's Collie Motorplex facility upgrade business case of December
2016 estimated a total overall economic impact of $6.3 million annually and
$3.1 million in value-add annually.
(4) The Shire of
Collie's Collie Motorplex facility upgrade business case of December
2016 identified stage 1 as: track extension and upgrade, $1.758 million;
footbridge installation, $190 000; upgrade of spectator facilities, $102 000;
upgrade of competitor areas, $500 000; and project management and contingency,
$520 000. Stage 2 is identified as a drag strip, drift circuit, building
improvements and plant/machinery purchases; however, it was not costed in the
shire's business case.
(5) The state
government has provided $1.314 million from royalties for regions and $1.67 million
from the community sporting and recreation facilities fund, totalling $2.984 million.
The scope of work includes a track
extension and upgrade, construction of a footbridge, and upgrade of spectator
and competitor facilities.
(6) No decision on future funding
has been made.
