On behalf of the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) It has not been possible to reach an agreement on the purchase price for the conditional freehold sale of Beadon Bay caravan park to the Shire of Ashburton. The Department for Planning and Infrastructure is arranging a meeting with the Shire of Ashburton and the lessee of the caravan park to discuss options that may be considered to finalise the matter. (2) The approval by the minister for the sale of the land was not based on valuations already undertaken. On receiving the approval from the minister to sell the land, and in line with DPI policy, a current unimproved market valuation was then sought by DPI.
