(1) From 1 January 2014, the eastern escalator was out of service at Joondalup station on the following dates and reasons described below:
12 May 2014 to 5 September 2014
The escalator was undergoing a complete replacement as it was over 20 years old and is considered life-expired.
17 October 2014
The escalator was out of service for approximately five hours due to a technical fault that occurred.
On 21 October 2014
The escalator was out of service for approximately six hours due to a fault with the hand rail speed sensors.
(2) From 1 January 2014, the western escalator at Joondalup station was out of service for the following dates and reasons described below:
17 March 2014 to 1 April 2014
The escalator was out of service due to a fault with a shaft bearing part that was life expired.
24 May 2014
to 27 May 2014
The escalator was out of service due to a brake coil that had burnt out. This was an obsolete part and had to be replaced.
8 September 2014
The escalator was put out of service on 8 September 2014 to commence a complete replacement as it is over 20 years old and considered to be life-expired. It is due to go back into service in mid December 2014.
