360. Hon DARREN WEST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Australian Securities
and Investments Commission investigation into the share price spike involving
one of the preferred bidders for the Forrestfield–Airport Link project.
(1) Did the
minister notify the Public Sector Commissioner and/or the director general of
the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of the investigation; and, if so, on
what dates?
(2) What specific
types of documents have been requested by ASIC from the minister's
office and department?
(3) What is the time frame covered
by the documents and phone records that have been requested?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) Upon
receiving the letter from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission,
advice was sought from the State Solicitor's Office. I table a copy of
the correspondence from ASIC which details the information that ASIC sought.
