LIVE EXPORT — FEDERAL GOVERNMENT POLICY
351. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. The
Premier has said that he will do his best to support WA farmers. Unlike the previous the Premier, he at least knows that there
is a consultation phase. Will the Premier talk to Anthony Albanese and
the federal agriculture minister and show his support for this WA industry?

AnswerView source ↗

We will make our position clear to
the Albanese government, but I once again urge everyone who believes that they will be impacted by the decisions being
looked at by the panel to make a submission and engage in that process .
Obviously, if decisions with adverse impacts are made, we want people and the
federal government to understand that there has to be some way that it can work
with the industry to minimise those impacts. But it is important that people
remember that they must engage in that process and, ultimately, this is a decision
of the federal government and one for which it has a mandate. As a result, I urge
members to engage strongly with the federal government.
