SYNERGY — COAL IMPORTS
1. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I
refer to the importation of coal from Newcastle to Collie from December 2022 to
February 2023 to supply Synergy generation.
(1) What was the
total cost of the importation of the two shiploads of coal shipped to Collie
from New South Wales?
(2) How much of
the imported coal has been delivered to Collie?
(3) How much of
the imported coal has been blended to allow it to be used in Synergy's
generation units?
(4) How much of
the imported coal has been burnt for electricity generation as of 13 February
2023?
(5) What is the
blend ratio of the imported coal to locally produced Collie coal for it to be
used in electricity generation?

Member, I know that this is an
ignominious start to question time, but I do not have the answer to that
question in my file at this stage. If one
comes in before the end of question time, I will provide it to the member. Just
as a matter of notice, I do not have the answers to C003 or C004. If
those answers come in, I will give them to the member if he has asked the
questions, but at this stage, I do not have those answers.
